Charity case 27: Ms Nguyen Ngoc Quyen

Seeking to give a child the chance to attend school with his peers, the PhucBinh Donation’s Heart Surgery Fund for Poor Children sponsored a heart operation for Nguyen Ngoc Quyen in Can Tho.

In May 2024, PhucBinh Donation received a request for assistance from the family of Nguyen Ngoc Quyen. Despite being 10 years old, due to a long-standing illness, Ms. Quyen weighed less than 20kg. 

Not only that, she also suffered from a heart condition: Patent Ductus Arteriosus. This was a heavy burden for her already frail body. The constant, agonizing pain prevented her from attending school and playing with her peers. Laughter and the joy of learning were replaced by long periods of staying home, surrounded by four walls. The dream of going to school and exploring the world was a fading image in her mind.

With a difficult family situation, her parents, both factory workers, lived on a meager and unstable income. With so little money, they could barely afford daily life, let alone the extremely expensive cost of their daughter’s heart surgery.

Charity

The PhucBinh Donation Fund has decided to fully sponsor Quyen’s heart surgery. The post-surgery cost was VND 15 million. This amount is not merely a financial contribution; it represents a shared spirit, compassion, and a belief in a brighter future for her.

On May 30th, Ms Quyen was discharged from the hospital with a healthy heart. She is a small girl with an immense fighting spirit and willpower to overcome her illness.

Moving forward, PhucBinh Donation hopes that she will have many new experiences and joys. Most importantly, we wish for her to be confident in her studies and to love everyone with a complete and healthy heart.
