In July 2022, PHUCBINH DONATION received a sponsorship application from Phan Thi Minh Tam’s family. Ms Tam is the youngest child in a family of 4 siblings in Doi Be, Thanh Binh Commune, Chuong My District, Hanoi City.
Tam’s family is a poor household in the commune. Grandparents are old and often sick. Father (Mr. Quy) works as a driver with monthly salary of 7 million VND, while mother (Ms. Dao) works in the fields and takes care of children. The family has 4 children, the first daughter is 12 years old with mental retardation, the right half of her body is weak and difficult to move. The third son is 6 years old and malnourished. MsTam is 20 months old, weighs 7 kg due to congenital heart disease – ventricular septal defect.
Ms Tam was diagnosed with the disease when she was 19 days old and ordered surgery (the cost of surgery was announced by the hospital is 45 million VND) but the family could not allow her to have surgery.
In July 2022, Ms Minh Tam was often sick, had difficulty breathing, so her family wished to take him to heart surgery. Knowing that Phucbinh Donation once went on Facebook to look for sponsors, her mother (Ms Dao) asked the Fund to help her child.
Charity
After receiving the application for funding, Phucbinh Donation decided to visit and finance the surgery costs for her family.
Ms Phan Thi Minh Tam had heart surgery on August 6, 2022. The surgery went well. Between the two options of cheaper breast augmentation surgery and more expensive armpit plastic surgery, the Fund chose to sponsor plastic surgery.
On August 11, 2022, the representative of Phucbinh Donation paid for the surgery cost of 41,230,236 VND at the National Children’s Hospital. Besides PHUCBINH DONATION, Minh Tam’s surgery was sponsored by Nguyen Anh Dung’s family and Nguyen An Binh’s family.
